THIRD PRACTICE, FIRST PERIOD

This day I was with a mixed of feelings because I was happy for doing my last practice but at the same time I was a little bit sad because that was my last day with my english access students. That is a really nice group to work with because they participate in class, they work when you ask them to, they seem that they enjoy the class, some of them are really matured and respect the teachers.
to start the class I am seriously honest, I did not know what to do for the warm up because I had to continue with the same topic of present perfect but this time in an interrogative form. Well, I looked for some warm up actvities in the internet and I found the jump in and jump out activity, It consists on making a semicircle with your students, take your hands and asked them first to say what you as a teacher say and do what you say, they did it really nice, but next time they had to say the opposite of what I said and do what I said, this time it had a little bit of difficulty, but the third time was really funny because the students had to say what I said but do the opposite and some of them couldn´t do it, it was really nice because they enjoyed it a lot, they were laughing and having fun. This activity helped them not to practice but to wake up and have more energy in the class.
After having fun with them I explained to them the grammar explanation and gave them some exercises and they also helped me to do them.
The fist acivity of that day was in pairs, I gave them a sheet of paper that contained some exercises that they had to fill in, it was a conversation, I planned to make them role play it but at the time the students were doing I forgot about it and I just cheked it and went with another activiy.
he second activity consisted on working on a board game in groups, they were practicing the topic, learning new vocabulary and also having fun.
the problem that I always have in a class in timming the activities but I think that as the time is passing by I will learn how to do a better job.
That is the way I did my job that day and thanks to God everything went ok.

SECOND PRACTICE, FIRST PERIOD

this day I started with another topic, I was teaching about present perfect. This day I did my warm up by making a review of the previous topic that was about comparatives and superlative adjectives. I asked my students to make two lines in front of the whiteboard. They did it as I said, I was dictating the adjectives and they were writing them in the whiteboard but in the comparative form, the group that had more adjectives in the correct way was the winner. It was a really good acctivity I did with them because they enjoyed it a lot, they had fun and also learn and practice more about the previous topic that sometimes we leave aside and do not care about anymore.
after doing that, I presented the new topic to them, I did a chart which contained the grammar explanation about the present perfect and some exercises. I tried to explain to them that topic the best way I could. They collaborated in the class and get what I wnated to in the class.
After that I gave them some pratice to see if they had understoood what I had already taught them. I gave them a list of verbs and they had to rewrite them but in the past participle, some of them couldn´t finish it but I tried to help them out. It is good when you see your students trying to learn and doing the practice you have given them. I like when they call me teacher can you help me? or when they try to tell me something in english and ask me is it ok? and they wait for me to correct them, tht is really good because it makes feel like a real teacher and it invites you to learn more and more in order to teach others.
After dong that I asked them to get in pairs and work in an article. The rticle was a little bit bigger so they couldn{t finish reading it and answer the true and false questions that they had in the other page.
I enjoy every class I have with my students, every one is a challenge for me and even though I get nervous about being in front of them, I like it and try to prepare myself to give a good class.

First practice

this day, I had to teach english access students. Thia was my second time teaching this level because last semester I taught a group of this same level. I it really great to be with them because most of the are teenagers and most of them are earger to learn english and to speak with their classmates.
It is good to work with this groups because they participate a lot, they want to read, they wnat to play and also they want to learn , that´s then important part.
That day I sarted the class presenting the topic too and enough as a warm up. I showed the a picture of my little nephew who is 9 months old and I asked the if he could drive a car for which they answered not, so from that moment on I started my class making the use of too and enough. I wrote some erxercises on th board and I asked the to help me out. They did it and in that way I understood that they had gotten the topic very well.
I know I was missing some others exercises in order to make the clear everything in the context but I guess they got unleast the basc for that day of a new topic.
After that the students worked on some exercises on the book, page 114 where they will have to comple it and then perform it in font of the class.
for the second activity the students worked on the first exercise of the handout in an individually form.
then , the students worked paraphrasing some sentences in pairs, in this exercise they did what we called Think, pair and share in order to check if what they have done was ok.
After that , I gave the stuents a sheet of paper where ther hay to fill in the blanks in order to complete some sentences.
and to finish the class, they work on a sheet of paper which contains some missing words such as "too" or "enough" so, they stood up and looked for five different students in order to ask them and fiil it up.
All i can say is that I really like this class and as always I have a lot of things to do better and for them to have a better undertaqnding.
