THIRD PRACTICE LAST PERIOD!!!
Well, and this last practice came, I was kind of nervous because I was going to be recorded in my class, but I tried to do my best. This day, I went to my classroom really early, wrote the objective on the board and waited for the teacher and the students that arrived a little bit late in the classroom. It is kind of difficult to develop all the activities if you do not have the stimated time. I started my class around twenty minutes late that day and with just three students. I was going to review the same topic of the last class and it was "modals in passive voice" As a warm up I started dictating some modals and I explained to the students that as soon as they listen to the modal they do not have to talk or even say a word, instead they had to think of a sentence, write it down and as soon as they finished, they had to stand up and read their sentence out loud, the student that finished before the other ones got a prize, they enjoyed the activity. At the beginning I think that they didn´t understand my directions but I explained it again and they worked.
After I finished with my war up, I started with my first activity, I asked them to write an in class essay. They had to create an essay in which they had to write about the topic "the importance of treating animals humanely" I mentioned to them some details that we had to think of at the time of writiing an essay, they did what I asked them to do and after they finished writing it, they read it out loud for their classmates and I aldo checked the students pronunciation and corrected when necessary.
In my second activity I made a review about the adjectives that they had studied some days before, I asked to check a page of their books and to see the adjectives they had already used. I wrote some sentences on the board using the passive voice with adjectives and they also gave me some examples.
In order to develop my third activity, I wrote on the board some topics related to the "animals" I also asked to sit in pairs and discussed those topics, they did it so, they talked about the topics and I also gave my opinions.
I had prepared a debate as my last activity but we all were discussing about those topics that I didn´t even do the debate because the class ended as a debate, I enjoyed a lot the last activity, I shared ideas with my students and also new their points of view about the nature and about the problems that are affecting our lives every day.
After I finish this activity I thaked them for their colaboration and gave them some candies.
This is the way I finish all my practices, I went through many experiences and situations, but I can finally say that even though as a teacher we face many problams and difficult situations, pressure and everything I was born to be a teacher and I love my major.
These practices helped me to love and know what I was born for. I love being an english teacher and I thank God for giving me the opportunity of teaching basic, intermediate, advanced levels and also english access students. This was the best exerience in all my major.
SECOND PRACTICE, LAST PERIOD
This is my second practice and I am really excited because I am about to finish, I am just missing one practice. I think it is a mixed of feelings because I am happy to finish my major but on the other side I feel kind of sad because I will miss teachng at the university, doing my practices, sharing with teachers and students, etc.
This day I gave my class with enthusiasm, I honestly didnn´t know what to do as a warm up due to the fact that there are just some studetns. The topic I had to teach was "modals in assive voice", so I started the class by reviewing the passive voice, I prapared a reading comprehension activity that was about "jury duty" I like that reading because of the vocabulary. The students had to read it by themselves and identify the passive voice on it and read it ot loud.
After they read that paragraph and remember about the passive voice, I gave them the structure of the passive voice and also some examples, they gave me some examples too and in this way I knew how much they knew about the passive voice that was the topic that we were reviewing.
After I made sure that the passive voice was clear for them, I asked them to write three more sentences practicing the same tpic and they did it very good.
Then, I introduced the modals to them, I asked them to tell me all the modals they knew in order to review it too, so the students dictated all the modals they knew and practice. I also gave them the structure of it and asked them again to write some sentences using the modals to know how much they know about it.
After I had reviewed the passive voice and the modals with the students I introduced the new topic that was modals in passive voice! To introduce this topic I asked them some questions related to our country, some questions like:"Who may be elected president in El Salvador?" and the students were giving their opinions not knowing that they were using the structure that I was about to teach, I t was fun. I also gave them a MEMO n which they had to pay attention to the modals in passive voice and the structure.
After having a conversation with them about the questions I made, I gave them the structure of this new topic for them and I also provided some examples on the board.
After I made sure they had understood the new topic I geve them a fill in the blanks activity, they had to complete some sentences on a sheet of paper, I always like to solve the first exercise in order to explain to them the way they are going to work.
Then, after I checked all the exercises with them all, I gave them another activity in which they had to change some active sentences into passive voice, they did it very nice and worked really fast, that told me that they were already familiar with the new topic, that they had understood what I had already taught.
Fnally, I asked them to get in pairs in order to do the last activity, they had to make a conversation in which they had to practice everything we had been reviewing and learning, they did everything I asked them to do and colaborated in my class. They finally role played the conversation in front of the others and I checked their pronunciation and corrected it when it was necessary.

FIRST PRACTICE, LAST PERIOD
Well, this time I had to teach advanced english with teacher Giovanni Blanco. Let me tell you that this time was so different than before because in my last practices I had to teach basic and intermediate levels, and also english access. When you are about to teach an advanced level, you are eager to see how different it is going to be, how the topics are going to be and if they are going to be difficult to teach.
The topic I had to teach this time was about the correlative conjunctions, to be honest I didn´t remember what that topic was about and it was really stressful because I asked the lesson plan to the teacher and was waiting for it during some days and it didn´t appear until the day I had to teach. At that time I had already prepared something or my class, I had some activities.
In the evening I went to give my class, I felt kind of unsure and uncomfortable but I try to do my best that day.
I started the class doing the warm up in a different way, I started to make some questions to the students, in that group there are only eight students and the problem is that not all of them go to class every day, I started my warm up with only three students, I asked them if they knew about the correlative conjunctions, and I also pasted some information on the board and provided some examples.
The first activity I deveoped was i pais, at this time I had six students. I gave them a piece of paper contaning some sentences and the students had to look for the correlative conjunctions and underline them.
It is really nice when the students participate in the activities; in this group some of the students don´t like to participate a lot and this makes me feel uncomfortable.
After the first activity I posted a chart on the board with some sentences with some spaces in blank and the students had to fill them out and copy.
In this class I was trying not to do my activities too fast neither too slow because there is a time for my class and I can´t finish early or too late, so I tried to do everything in the best way.
in the third activity I gave the students a piece of paper containing some fill in the blanks exercises, most of them participated in the exercises and enjoyed it.
The activity four was the hot potato game. for this activity I was expecting to have more time with the students, I thought It was going to last like eight or ten minutes but it only lasted three or four minutes because they are just a few students but anyways.
The next activity was about rewriting some sentences. the students had to use the paired onjunctions and rewrite all the sentences, all of them did good at it.
My last activity was "speaking" the students stood up and asked some questions to their classmates about sports, the rule was that they had to use the correlative conjunctions in the questions and in the answers.
I can say that this is a good group and small, but the problem is that even though they are just eight not all of them participate and this attitude makes the teacher feel uncomfortable in a classroom.

THIRD PRACTICE, SECOND PERIOD!!!
Well, this was my last practice. I was kind of happy because I was about to finish my second period and a little bit sad because I was not going to be with this group anymore.
I tried to be with a better attitude and prepared my class with many days of anticipation. so, I felt really prepared to give tis class.
The topic I had to teach this time was about " used to" I was asked to give more practice to the students becase the teacher had already explained this topic to them.
For the warm up I asked the students to make a circle with their desks and we played "change place if" the purpose of this activity was to make the students practice what they had already studied with the teacher about this topic. I started saying: Change place if you used to play with cars when you were a child, and all of them moved and looked for another desk and one of them couldn´t get any desk and got a penalty, he or she had to say a sentence and after that give another command for the students to move around again.
My first activity was a chart. I posted a chart on the board that contained some sentences with some missing words. I asked them to looked at the chart, read the sentences and tried to find the answers and write them down on their notebooks. After they finished it, I gave to some of the students a marker and they went to front and filled up the sentence they wanted, and after doing that I asked them to repeat them oout loud after me.
In eh second activity I gave the students a readng, they worked in pairs. They read a paragraph about " the way were" After reading that, they had to check some statements and write if they were right or wrong. All of them worked in a good way and practiced a lot.
In the third activity, I showed them some flash cards with some drawings of professions and occupations, and they had to give me a sentence using the drawings they were looking at, every student who gave me a sentence got a candy, in that way they were motivated to stand up and say the sentence as soon as they looked at the flshcard.
For the next activity I gave the students two mini flash cards each and they stood up and look for two different students and say one sentence to each of them using the mini flash cards.
To finish the class I gave the stdents a sheet of paper which contained some sentences in simple past and they had to paraphrase them usng "used to". I thought that it was going to be difficult for them but it wasn´t, they did it really fast and read them out loud,.
I think that this time I did a better job, I prepared my class on time, I tried to explain it better and monitored more my students.

SECOND ENTRY, SECOND PERIOD!!!
This time I had to teach about quantifers! It was more like a review because my classmate had already taught about this topic. At this time, I had met more my students, they had more confidence with me. I tried to look for better activities this time, my purpose was that they learn more about this topic and participate a lot.
To start the class I asked my students to work on my warm up that was "the broken telephone" I asked them to make two groups and choose a leader on each group, they did it so.
When they had their groups done, they made two lines in front of the whiteboard and I gave a message to the student on the back and each student had to whisper the message to the other one and so on, when the message got to the last student on the front, he or she had to write it on the board.
We had a lot of fun with that activity because the message written on the board was not the same I gave them. After we finished doing this activity, we checked all the messages on the board and I gave them the correct message,
After that, I posted a chart on the board with a matching activity, the students helped me to finish all the sentences, but the only problem I had with it, was that I filled it up with their help and I didn´t give much time for them to think about the answer r even to write the sentences on their notebooks, it was really fast that I realized I messed it up until the teacher gave me the feedback.
My second activity was about filling in the blanks. I gave them a sheet of paper with some sentences and the students will have to do it by tehmselves. After that I checked it and asked them to repeat all the sentences out loud.
The third activity was in pairs, the students had to describe their perfect place using all the quantifiers they had studied, they did it the way I asked and read it out loud in the class each pair.
In the last activity, I asked them to make a crcle and I read a conversaton in which there were some quantifiers. Every time they listened to one quantifier, they had to give one step ahead and give me an example usng the quantifier they had already lstened. Some of them did it but some others were a little bit shy to anwer in front of the others. This activity was not what I was expecting but the students enjoyed it anyways.
What I liked in this class was that eventhough there are some shy students, all of them worked a lot and did everything I asked them to do.

FIRST PRACTICE, SECOND PERIOD
This day of my first practice unfortunately I was in a hurry and I couldn´t get some copies I had prepared for my students to work on. I also hadn´t had the time to prepare well my class.
I think that this is something that the teachers are going to face sometimes, they are going to have some issues and are not going to have the best attitude in the classroom.
Even though I had many problems with the class I tried to do my best. I started the class with a review of the topic they were students since some days before that was about phrasal verbs. I asked the students to make two groups, one group was A and the other one B, they had to choose a leader in each group, the leaders went to the front and I showed them a phrasal verb and they had to mimic it an the group had to guess what phrasal verb was that. I tried to use some phrasal verbs that I considered were not so difficult for them. The students really liked thi activity, they enjoyed it, participated and had fun.
For the first activity I pasted a chart on the board that contained a list of some other phrasal verbs ending with the preposition up. I had the opportunity to choose the phrasal verbs I wanted to and I decided to teach them this list because I thought that it was oing to be easier for them to learn them and to put them into practice. After presenting them the list and writing some examples of each of them on the board I aked them to repeat them out loud.
After that I asked them to make a circle and I explained to them what this activity was going to be about, I called this activity "story time" It consisted on creating an oral story using the phrasal verbs. I started the story saying a sentence, then the next person had tto repeat what I had just said and say his or her own sentences and so on. After they had finished creating the story I tried to make a summary of what they had just said and asked them to remember about the phrasal verbs they used in the story time. This was a really nice activity I did and also the teacher told me n the feedback that he had liked the activity and he is planning to do it with his students because it is really challenging for them and they practice a lot.
To finish the class I asked the ss to work in pairs and choose five phrasal verbs they like the most and make five sentences using them. The ss worked on this activity, but I think that even though they had understood the topic it was kind of hard for them to create the sentences because they took a long time doing it.
I really liked teaching this group, they participated in the class, paid attention nd had fun.

THIRD PRACTICE, FIRST PERIOD
This day I was with a mixed of feelings because I was happy for doing my last practice but at the same time I was a little bit sad because that was my last day with my english access students. That is a really nice group to work with because they participate in class, they work when you ask them to, they seem that they enjoy the class, some of them are really matured and respect the teachers.
to start the class I am seriously honest, I did not know what to do for the warm up because I had to continue with the same topic of present perfect but this time in an interrogative form. Well, I looked for some warm up actvities in the internet and I found the jump in and jump out activity, It consists on making a semicircle with your students, take your hands and asked them first to say what you as a teacher say and do what you say, they did it really nice, but next time they had to say the opposite of what I said and do what I said, this time it had a little bit of difficulty, but the third time was really funny because the students had to say what I said but do the opposite and some of them couldn´t do it, it was really nice because they enjoyed it a lot, they were laughing and having fun. This activity helped them not to practice but to wake up and have more energy in the class.
After having fun with them I explained to them the grammar explanation and gave them some exercises and they also helped me to do them.
The fist acivity of that day was in pairs, I gave them a sheet of paper that contained some exercises that they had to fill in, it was a conversation, I planned to make them role play it but at the time the students were doing I forgot about it and I just cheked it and went with another activiy.
he second activity consisted on working on a board game in groups, they were practicing the topic, learning new vocabulary and also having fun.
the problem that I always have in a class in timming the activities but I think that as the time is passing by I will learn how to do a better job.
That is the way I did my job that day and thanks to God everything went ok.
